Inland Empire Utilities Agency (IEUA) Engineering Design Guidelines (EDG) and Front-End Documents
Engineering Design Guidelines (EDG) Development
“IEUA is very appreciative of the patience and in-depth level of review Jamal Awad and his team provided IEUA. They led us through an update of our design guidelines, standard detail, asset management program for our RP-5 facility and consultant/ construction document boiler plate updates. At every step of the way they listened to our concerns and provided practical suggestions for our consideration. They were a true extension of our staff.” – Jerry L. Burke, PE. QSD, IEUA Director of Engineering
- The IEUA EDG was established as a living document that facilitates Inland Empire Utilities Agency’s goal to track lessons learned and promote consistency in project delivery across the Agency. All IEUA Requests for Proposal for engineering services now include a link to the EDG to better communicate Agency preferences to design consultants, helping streamline and improve processes.
- Under previous contracts, managed the Engineering Services to establish and update the (IEUA) Engineering Design Guidelines (EDG) and update IEUA’s Front-End Documents and General Conditions to streamline the development of construction bid documents.
- Worked in close coordination with management, engineering, and operations and maintenance staff to lead and facilitate all technical discussions.
- We continue to perform significant hands-on training for IEUA PMs on both the EDG and Front-End Documents and track lessons learned to enhance reliability and consistency across IEUA projects.
